There are more and more people who do not eat meat, and perhaps even eliminate milk and eggs.
Who among us has never been asked why?
Or if you are on the other side, surely if you have a ‘veg’ acquaintance you have thought about it.
Well, there are three main reasons: environment, health and ethics.
The first comes from a strong awareness of the impact of meat on our ecosystem, for more information you should watch the documentary “Dominion”, available for free on YouTube.
The second comes from very personal needs.
The third, as you might imagine, is the most widespread.
This desire stems from a desire for conscious eating and peace with oneself, which can arise from a “face-to-face” encounter with an animal that is considered “for slaughter”. This can come from a face-to-face encounter with an animal that is considered ‘for slaughter’, from watching footage from slaughterhouses, as well as from many other things.
What about ‘ethical’ farms?
They are the same, if not worse: imagine ‘loving’ an animal throughout its life in order to kill it.
Whether it’s intensive farming or ethical farming, the animal dies, full stop.
And it does not choose to die because, in its shoes, what would you want?
From the “ethical” environment also comes the religious environment, sometimes.
Obviously, it is important to study and continue to inform oneself for the sake of one’s health and to make the most of this choice, which is not just a diet but a lifestyle!
It is possible, if not easier, to be healthy without meat and animal products.
